About Sinnetta Voight

I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand and a full member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and the New Zealand Psychological Society.

With extensive experience in psychological assessment and treatment, I work primarily with adults in both individual and group settings. I have expertise working with clients experiencing anxiety, mood difficulties, trauma, grief, stress and substance use, both in a Correctional and Mental Health setting. I have extensive experience working with high-risk offenders and am skilled in risk assessment and associated report writing.

My practice emphasises the provision of psychological assessment and psychological treatment, utilising a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches centred around a client’s needs. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I believe in working with clients in a collaborative and affirmative way and am committed to providing a safe, ethical and evidence-based practice. My approach is to focus on the person, rather than their difficulties, whilst supporting people to find their strengths and resilience in order to cope more effectively with life stressors. Therapy is targeted and focused, with the aim of helping people live full and rewarding lives.

I work with clients on either a short or long term basis, depending on the needs and preferences of the client.

I value continued professional development and as such, attend workshops to ensure awareness of recent research and its applicability to my clients.
